Splendid Dresser!

I wanted to get a dresser for the room that Lylia and the new baby girl will be sharing but what I really wanted was a dresser that could double for a changing table. I went onto craigslist crossing my fingers, and found this solid wood dresser for $20! And I was the first to respond so I got it! So we went and picked it up last Saturday and spent the day doing a little project. It was really beautiful outside and Lylia loved being out on the grass while we worked. It was really a nice afternoon. Here are the pictures!

A little higher than my waist! Perfect for changing!

The top and side of the dressers!

After it is all sanded down.

Me sanding away, don't worry I had a mask on.

Justin cleaning it as we went. The guy who owned it was a smoker so we made sure it was cleaned really well.

Starting to paint. I picked Purple because I don't usually paint with colors and thought it would be fun to try. I still am not sure about it but Justin keeps telling me it is because of the carpet, and I know he is right!

Lylia kept referring to it as my beautiful art project. She wanted in on the painting action too.

Here is the finished dresser. It looks darker in the picture than it actual is though.

Do you like it?

SO CUTE!!! When you told me you were doing purple I was a little unsure, but it looks adorable! You had the vision. It looks like a really sturdy and nice piece of furniture with really gorgeous lines, great find! I love your art project. :)
