So last night I spoke to my sister on the phone. She brought up some very valid points about my work perdicument. 1. How long has it been since we had a fire alarm in my work office?
2. Are their smoke alarms in my office?
Well I am sitting staring up and can very clearly see a sprinkler over my head. Maybe a little lighter action is needed!?

I bring up this conversation to also open the door to the remainder of my work story. So yesterday my boss comes up and asks to see me. After finishing the call I was on, I went to her office in which she said, "I smoke in my office with the window open, but I care about you and the baby, so any time you can smell it please tell me." And that was it. So I thought oh great, she knew it was me after all, which shouldn't be that big of a shocker but I guess I was hoping that HR would keep it confidential.
So I walked into the office this morning and sure enough it smelled strongly of smoke. So I sat down, and tried to decide how I would address it from here. I sent my boss an e-mail just stating I could smell it and would be opening my window in case she gets any complaints from office members. She wrote back and told me she would fix it, and was sorry, and not to worry about the window drama and to let her know any time I could smell it.
I am grateful she is being so nice about it, but at the same time this is going to get old really fast. This is really important to Justin that she stops and so I will continue to e-mail, but for me it truly would just be easiest to sniff my deodorizer all day and have my window open.

kelly! You're totally right! Don't they have a fire marshal on campus who checks the alarms ever six months? I think you should buy one and hide it in your boss' office so that it goes off whenever she smokes!!
We're anxiously watching how this drama unfolds (it's nice there have been so many posts to read recently!), although of all of it I have to admit one sentence popped out in particular: the part where your boss cared about "you and the baby."
Is there something you're planning on announcing sometime soon? If so, congrats!!! :D
(And if not, sorry... Hopefully I didn't just really stick my foot in my mouth! Eeek! :)
So there's been window drama? I haven't heard that one yet!
