Projects, interviews and family night!

It seems as if the days just run into each other these days. I try to keep track of the days but the past few months have been one big blur. We apply for lots of jobs everyday knowing that it only takes one. But to keep our spirits up we've been helping with projects around my moms house. So far we have cleared out a weed infested corner, leveled it and installed a retention wall and put an above ground pool in! It is awesome! We've painted two parts on the house that have needed painting for years. We are fixing my moms sidewalk by releveling it with sand and putting them back to where they should have been. We are redoing her deck with new boards, then me will apply this new deck product. I've cleaned out some of the garage. We've organized and cleaned out my moms house and had a yard sale. I painted a shelf for my mom, painted a sewing organizer. It has been nice to have projects to keep us busy. I've noticed that if I let myself even lay down for a few minutes that the depression settles in, so when I have exhausted all job searches, projects are my therapy. I would like to be working so that I can feel like our feet our moving, but I am doing the best with what we have been given. We have taken a few family outings to keep us sane. The children's museum has a family night once a month so we decided to try it this last month. We figured for only $6 for our whole family that it was worth it. So we went and it was very busy, but we had a great time. Megan just loved the toddler section especially where she could go up and down these little stairs. Lylia and Justin went around the whole museum doing the big kid stuff, and would check on us occassionally. It was such a fun time. After words we decided to have dinner next to the harbor. It was simply the most beautiful night ever. A breeze and clear skies! Justin had never been down there before and loved every minute of it. You know those moments where you just feel so completely happy, well this was one of those nights. We tried to forget our woes for a night and enjoyed our eternal family! It truly was the best.
A few weeks ago we went strawberry picking so that we could make some freezer jam. Again it was a beautiful day and was great to get some vitamin D in our systems! They had a slide made out of a pipe that just happens to be a company my brother Levi worked for in California years ago. They had a free petting zoo with sweet little kittens!
A few weeks ago our sweet friend Cynthia and Erik came to visit us from Boston! I met Cynthia at the University of Utah student apartments office when I worked there part time. She came in and was going to be there doing research. Anyway to make a long story short we became her only friend in Utah, and we have been able to keep that friendship ever since. They are from the Netherlands, and we love them! So no job offers yet, but the other day while I was being set apart for my new calling as co chair for weekly relief society activities Heavenly Father promised me that he is preparing great blessings for us, and to keep going strong.
Justin has decided to be a teacher. So we are looking at graduate schools or alternative programs. He is going to start substitute teaching in the fall, and hopefully get into a program next summer. I am applying for finance jobs, and have had several interviews, but either they didn't pay enough, or they chose the other person. Justin and I went to an employment training that was held at the church employment center a few weeks ago, and that has helped a lot, but still hasn't landed the job. Well I'll try and post some pictures now!
