Justin had a week off from school for spring break so we decided to do a few things around Salt Lake to save money, and well to save our sanity. We decided to have three picnics. The first was well, cold...
We are a bit eager for Spring weather. We then decided to try another picnic but that we would go to a local reservoir and sit on the warm sand and enjoy our time. Well it was not what I was expecting although Justin said it was better than he was expecting. Can you tell who grew up next to beautiful reservoirs and who grew up next to piles of dirt? First of all the first reservoir we went to was entirely ice! So we decided to try a place a bit closer to home. It was only half covered. lol. So we ate our lunch in the car...because there was no sand...and it was cold!
Yet again we don't have picnic timing apparently. Here are some pics of Lylia and Justin at the pitiful I mean beautiful reservoir. lol. Okay so Justin made that joke and I take credit. It was fun, but not at all what Maryland is like. No trees at all. No green at all. No ducks at all. Although Justin says he saw one...it was so far away it looked like trash. So no one really knows. lol.
Our third and last picnic was at our favorite park in Salt Lake called Liberty Park. It has a duck pond which was sadly low of water. It was a very windy day and there were lots of people, but we packed up our BBQ and bought some meat and went on our way. Justin walked Lylia around for a little while, while
I watched the meat, and then it was my turn. Here is Justin showing Lylia a pine cone for the first time at Liberty Park during Spring Break! Thank goodness for parks, and for breaks! We had fun having a BBQ and going on a nice walk. The park was busy, seeing how the weather was nearly 70 degrees. We had a great time.We had planned originally to go on a bike ride, but Lylia was sick and not at all in the best of moods. So Justin still put the bike seat on my bike. He is a good sport. Here is Justin and Lylia working on their little project! If you look closely you will see Lylia has a wrench! Lol, she wanted to be near daddy while he worked on putting her bike seat on mommy's bike. So cute! We have a cute baby helmet for her, and when we go on our first ride, we will make sure to take pictures.

This is Lylia sadly a little over a month ago. Sad because well she has grown so much since. Today marks Lylia's first day as a fully independent walker! lol. Thats right, she skipped crawling and decided to walk. She has never shown much interest in crawling and well today she proved that taking the higher road is well, higher! lol. We will try and put a video up in the next day of her walking with her walker, because she has changed a lot! She is getting so adventurous and we are having to keep a closer eye on her now. Baby proof you might say, well yes, and we are working on it. Every time she finds something new, we learn just what needs baby proofing. I was teasing Justin the other day when she was playing with the VHS player that before long there would be PB&J sandwiches in it. He didn't laugh. lol. Well my mom wanted to see a walker video, and we had to post our favorite walking video, as well as a cute picture from her exploring in the kitchen. We added a video from our reservoir trip of Lylia hiking up a hill squeaking.
For Justin's birthday he got a little bit of spending money and fou
nd a really great deal on Guitar Hero 3. Lylia and Justin rock out together on a nightly basis when I am asleep. Just kidding.
Another picture I couldn't get away with not posting is of Justin rocking Lylia to sleep. This isn't a normal thing at all for her. We usually can put her in her crib with a blankie and binkie and she will fall asleep, but this night she was so overtired that she wouldn't fall asleep unless someone held her tight and sang a little song. I love moments like this when I see the father in Justin I wish I always had.
